                             Patterns for Plating
Each of the pattern package designs in this collection took from three to four months to develop. The time invested in trial and error with glass selection, assuring that visual effects worked as well as possible, and simplifying the glass cutting challenges that might be encountered, is a laborious process. But the outcome has been gratifying. When relatively inexperienced glass crafters are consistently able to work with these patterns to produce windows they cherish, we are indeed delighted.
The shadows, the depth, the illusion of distance, the texture, are truly the elements that make plated stained glasswork art instead of merely craft. And every pattern shown on this page embodies those elements. If you need our support during the building process, we'll give you the solutions immediately. But the instructions are clear and logical. Each pattern package also comes with a photo of the finished window, suggestions on glass choices, and of course full-size patterns.

Susan S. told us:
"I built the Diner pattern, but modified the design slightly so it more closely resembled my favorite café in town. When I finished it, I swore I would never again get involved with the extra work entailed in another plated project. But when I took another look at the results produced by plating - then showed the panel to other people - their 'wow' reaction made me decide that every glass window I would ever do in the future would have to be layered! Next on my list are Pacific Playground, African Grays, Keeper of the Treasure, and Cape Hatteras Lighthouse."

After completing her first plated project, Rebecca wrote this to us:
"It is amazing to hold my completed piece up in front of the window and look at it!  I didn't think the shadows and the baroque glass would show. It truly does open a whole new world. There is a world of difference between knowing that you are making shadows intellectually, and actually seeing them!"
Each pattern package pictured on this page has been reduced to only $12.95 plus $2.90 postage and handling
